New Covenant 

I know I’ve tried so many times
to reside within Your law,
Your precepts are so clear to me
I could not ask for more.

Yet I fail so miserably
I want to make amends,
but I’m still misbehaving,
my unruliness offends.

But You have paved another way,
another’s paid the price.
A new testament’s established
paid by Jesus Christ.

A new covenant’s the answer,
God’s law absorbed in me.
They’re written on my heart,
this way God sets me free.

When all men get to know God’s love
they won’t need a prod.
We will be His people
and He will be our God.
